Earth Federation Flag

With a big fat deadline stuck up my rear I just can't dredge up any feeling for giant robots (heck, I've been watching moestuff for 3 months straight now not counting F91 and Endless Waltz).

Might as well practice my skills at emblem design. This is the flag of the Earth Federation in 's upcoming story (the storyboarding is coming along fine, just to put some news out here.) There's a flag for each branch of the armed forces as well, and then there're an emblem for each section of each arm of the armed forces... emblem art madness derp.

Since in the story the EF is basically the inheritors of the real-world United Nations' roles, the flag shares quite a throwback to the U.N.'s flag.

Whether or not the EF needs new propaganda artists is entirely up to you.

The Earth Federation was originally a union of the ousted New Earth Unity Council, themselves the resurgence of the previously-defeated Earth Army Council of Unity and the then African Union, using the large manpower base of the latter to build up a credible force. Originally at a standoff against the United Nations due to economic and social disputes, the disagreements between the two super organizations eventually erupted into full-scale conflict, culminating in a swift and brutal victory for the Earth Federation within a year.

The Earth Federation now encompasses 99% of all nations on Earth, and the Federation Armed Forces is considered the successor of the United Nation Army in both form and function. The FAF uses a wide variety of armaments in combat, including several original innovations from the war with the U.N., or the technology of nations who refused their 1-week grace period to disarm and subject themselves to inspection.

The Earth Federation splits its forces into several distinct branches in a typical land-air-sea format, split into several different Armies/Fleet Commands; the Pacific, Atlantic, Eurozone, Warsaw, Africa and Asia(Alpha/Bravo) forces.

A less-conventional arm of the Federation's three main branches are the Federation's First-Strike Command(FFSC); also known as the Specialist Command, the Federation's special forces, the Corps is home to Federation Intelligence Command, the Federation Commandos, Federation Assault Mobile Division which houses the majority of their infamous Assault Mobile forces, and the newly-formed Federation Space Force Command, which is not yet big enough to earn its distinct branch.

While the FAF is ruthlessly efficient at quelling disputes, the Specialist Command's Commandos and Assault Mobile Corps are especially feared; the Federation allows member nations to keep a militia force to maintain order, and when the combat troops of the Specialist Command are called in, it is usually for manners of the highest order.

Soldiers of the Federation Specialist Corps are not only trained to strike without mercy, they recieve some of the best equipment on the field, equipment that would usually remain highly exclusive for years to come. The Assault Mobile Division, pilots trained in both infantry combat and the solo-use of Assault Mobiles against the face of conventional warfare tactics, have claimed many victories against the national armies of the world with their merciless tactics and overwhelming strength.
